The Awake Ministries
It's NOT about the numbers

As AWAKE disciples we have been given a duty. A mission. To spread the WHOLE gospel to every nation, kindred, tongue and people. Not only that, but with this gospel we must continue Christ’s legacy, by making more AWAKE disciples.
Now, that’s so exciting, however many of us are losing our focus. Many think that we should be focusing on those we are preaching or teaching the gospel to. Of course, there’s nothing wrong with thinking that way but, see once you begin to think that way you lose the whole point.
The focus isn’t on them. No. The focus isn’t on you. No. The focus will always and forever be on Jesus.
Once your focus is distorted, everything begins falling apart.
Let’s see what God’s Word has to say. 1 Corinthians 3:6 tells us this, ‘I planted the seed, Apollos watered it, but God has been making it grow.’ We plant the seed, God does the rest.
When you have the mentality that, the sowing isn’t good enough without first seeing the increase, you start making it all about you and not about Jesus. We can’t change anyone. We can’t convict anyone. That’s the Holy Spirit’s job. All we do is sow the seed by preaching, teaching and living the WHOLE gospel. Once you’ve done your job, God promises that He’ll do His.
There are so many people who have this kind of mindset and because of it, they put themselves under so much pressure. They get themselves tired and frustrated because they’re trying to do the job God said He’d do.
Don’t focus on the numbers. Focus on Jesus.
But what if I only bring one person to Christ? I’m sure that’s not enough right? Wrong.
Luke 15:7, ‘I tell you that in the same way there will be more rejoicing in heaven over one sinner who repents than over ninety-nine righteous persons who do not need to repent.’ One Jesus said. Only one.
It’s not about the numbers. When Jesus sees one sinner come to Him he has a whole celebration in heaven! Never make it about the numbers. It’s all about Jesus and Jesus alone.
So here’s our challenge to you. This time around when telling others about the gospel and the one who died for them, don’t focus on them. Focus on Jesus.
